Welcome to the FanDatabase!
Thanks to Cupid for this wonderful little note about D Q's fans.

Dennis' Fans Are A Special Breed:
What is it about Dennis Quaid that inspires an intense loyalty? I have been a fan of Dennis since I saw Frequency, and I was hooked. I went on the internet to find information on Dennis, and as an added bonus, made a lot of friends with people who are as loyal as I am. I am sure other celebrities have devoted and loyal fans, but I think Dennis' fans are a cut above the rest. Most of the fans I have met are baby boomers, just like Dennis. What I find fascinating is that most of us are not the stereotypical fan. We are wives, mothers, career women, divorced, separated, or single. Yet we see Dennis as more than just a sexy celebrity. He is a talented actor, director, singer and musician. He is also that rare celebrity that truly cares about his fans, never too busy to sign an autograph or take a picture. With Dennis there is a sincerity that shines through. He is charismatic, definitely. Another interesting fact about his fans is that they care about him personally, and want him to be happy. We love to hear about Jack, and want him to find happiness in his personal life. A lot of us have to explain to our families and friends why we are so attracted to Dennis, and it is nice to meet other fans on this site who have the same opinions and feelings. There is a camaradarie among Dennis' fans, and we respect each others opinions. There is no nastiness like on other sites. Hopefully, Dennis has seen this site and he is happy with what we have done. Our goal is for Dennis to know that he has a loyal group of fans who will support him in all his endeavors.

Here we have reviews of Dennis' movies, FanFiction, Poems, etc. all by you fans!!!

Featured Review of April
Often when a movie is a remake it never lives up to the original, especially if the original is a hit. The Parent Trap is an exception to the rule. A big part of that is due to the acting of Dennis Quaid. He plays Nick Parker, the ex-husband of Lizzy(Natasha Richardson). They had twin daughters, got divorced when the girls were babies, and each parent got custody of one daughter; Nick in California, Lizzy in London. Neither daughter knew of the other's existence until a chance meeting in summer camp. They bond and decide to reunite their parents by switching places. This way they will get to know the other parent, and when the switch is discovered, they will have to see each other again to return the girls.Hopefully this will rekindle their romance. The resulting chaos, which eventually leads to a fairytale ending, is entertaining, delightful and satisfying. Dennis and Natasha have a strong chemistry, and you can tell that their characters have feelings for each other in a subtle, believable way. Many actors are not comfortable around children, but not Dennis. He has a natural affinity towards them and is drawn to them like a moth to a flame. They are comfortable with him as well. This is very evident in his scenes with the talented Lindsay Lohan(Annie/Hallie). You truly believe they are father and daughters. Parent Trap is the kind of movie you want to see if you are feeling sad. It is a great mood lifter. If anyone other than Dennis Quaid was cast in the role of Nick Parker, the movie would not be as enjoyable. Dennis'ability to combine comedy and drama gives the movie a leg up on the original. Four hearts.
Review of Dennis' New Movie "The Rookie"
Our administrator, LittleChief, is a real life newspaper staff writer. With this job, she was able to see "The Rookie" a month ahead of it's penned release date. And who get's the first word...YOU!!!

The Rookie
Starring: Dennis Quaid, Rachel Griffiths, Brian Cox, Angus T. Jones
Reviewed By: LittleChief for WR and Dennis Quaid Central
Rating: Four and a Half out of Five

Based on the true story of Texas native Jimmy Morris (played by Frequency's Dennis Quaid), this movie starts off with a childhood Morris (played by Trevor Morgan from Disney's "Genius") with big dreams of a world series title. All of a sudden an arm injury sets him as a science teacher and high school baseball coach. Before he knows it a bet from his baseball team bubbles; that if they go on to win their division title, he will have to try out for an actual major league baseball team training camp. He takes the bet, thinking if they win, he'll just throw a few balls, be sent away and be done with it. When he finds a message on his answering machine from the major league scouts, he's off to the big stadium.
This is Disney. The predictable, no originality, no emotion studio. Okay, when Morris sees his family for the first time in three months and tries to reach up to the stand to grab his son's hand and give them the "I Love You," that makes your eyes water if you're an emotional one.
Being a Disney Fan all my life, I can testify the fact that this plot type is great if you play cards right. If you're talking cards, The Rookie is a Royal Flush. The non fiction based plot makes the movies genuine.
This is definitely one Quaid movie I'll add to my video buy list. It's an inspirational, funny, feel good movie, and powerful......subtracting the negatives of the basic plot. Quaid brings charm and the sense that he is a real baseball player pitching absolutely perfectly. Considering he didn't have a pitching double, I owe him a round of applause. What really brings the film up is a very surprising, flawless performance from Angus T. Jones (See Spot Run). He brings the comedic side of it all with the help of Quaid. The rest of the cast as Quaid's family, bring the family love aspect of the movie. Some scenes with them get a tad emotional.
The background differences of the players on Quaid's team makes their achievement inspiring and helps the film's powerful message, "Go for your dreams!" A message that a lot of movies have made. But not like this! This film has the charming sense of comedy that carries it all the way to home plate.
So what's the bottom line: Makes the Grand Slam
